I know it's not what you'd expect me to listen to, but this song is so beautiful and intelligently written and empowering. Great music is great music, I listen to everything no matter the genre.
Eminem - Legacy:
Anyone with mental health issues or that's been bullied or told they couldn't do something should find some meaning or solace in this. It's got beautiful female vocals, too.
You have a wonderful taste in music, Usagi! I love this song, too! ^^ I know it's rap, but Eminem writes some really moving, thought provoking shit. I don't hate all rap. There are great songs and just from a musical standpoint, a lot of the beats and music are insanely good. Lyrically, the vast majority of it is crap. I have no desire to listen to gloating about your possessions, your money or what you do to bitches.
I've been around a lot of hood people in my life, hell, Rob is one of them. I've listened to so much different music and I really like a lot of it. There's nothing wrong with embracing different styles of music, baby doll. You don't have to be in the ghetto to like rap, just like you don't have to live in Dracula's castle to like goth music. If it speaks to you, if you can relate, then listen to it. I know this speaks to me, too. Even if you can't relate and just like how it sounds, listen to it a few times, look into the lyrics and maybe you can expand your horizons and see things from a different point of view. Music is so much more than sound... :3
