Getting warm

It's that time of year again! The birds and bugs are coming out, trees and flowers are blooming, and it's getting hot outside. Of course, for a lot of people, myself included, that translates to cleaning bird shit off your car, getting bit/stung, allergies going crazy and yucky SWEAT!!! It has been going between pretty mild and cold lately, but we'll be getting a taste of summer early next week. This presents some problems for me.

When I say that I am pale, nearly corpse white, that is not humor or putting myself down. I have been forced to take skin tests more than once because my doctors were worried that I might have skin damage or worse from being so pale. Luckily, all the tests have come back negative, but I worry about it. When I post pictures from here this summer, don't be shocked to see me with long sleeves or even a cardigan on, it gets cold in here! lol They're installing the new AC system next week, so I have Tuesday off! :)

Going furniture shopping with Cathy after work, I'm excited! Rei hasn't really improved any since yesterday, but she did get a good nights sleep, at least.

All sorts of bugs and spiders! I usually take the stocking/tights pics at home, which I did here. If you look at the top middle photo, you can see part of my bunny phone case. lol Here's a better pic from not long after I got it:

Therapy was...therapeutic, I suppose. Lots of crying like last time. I'm really happy with my therapist. She's very caring and doesn't push things that are too hard or painful to talk about. :)

Rei is a little better than this morning, but it can change on a dime, so we're just gonna take it easy. I got everything Janice wanted done finished in like 3 hours. lol She's letting us stay for dinner, too! :) Rei and I may have gotten frisky on her couch... Twice! ^o^

Working at Janice's house today! :)

Morning everyone! :) I got an email from Janice last night asking if I could go get some work done in her office at her house. It's mostly just organizing things and doing work on her computer, but it'll be extra money (she just pays me in cash for things like this) and who doesn't like that? :) Rei is coming along just so I can be right there if she needs anything. She woke up at about 4:15 AM in excruciating pain that brought her to tears... :(

I have therapy at 9:30, which is why I'm doing this now. Hopefully she'll be running on time and I might even see if I can cut it a little short. Between the pain bringing her to near collapse and the amount of pills she's been having to take, I really don't feel comfortable leaving her alone. It's starting to depress and irritate her that she can't do much and she keeps trying to push herself too hard, which I think is just making it worse. :( We had some lovely sexy time last night despite all of this, but I'm wondering if maybe it was a bad idea...

Gonna be taking Misa along, too! I'm hoping I can get her acquainted with Haku a little bit and see if she'll play with Buck, too. I don't want my bunny growing up to be antisocial like me. :p I made two little Misa pictures in Photoshop yesterday, the first of which I was considering using as part of the wedding invitations! :)

Don't be alarmed!!!

The ring in the middle of my nose is NOT a new piercing!!! With both nostrils pierced, I found a ring that sorta connects each side. Rei said that I'm "embracing my inner Sopor Aeternus" today! lol I don't have quite the nose ring ensemble that she does, but I appreciate the compliment nonetheless! :)

The reason for the post is because everyone who works here has asked if it's a new piercing! Cathy had some interesting thoughts/comments, as you probably would expect from the woman that Rei came from...

Cathy: What did you do to yourself now, Short Stuff!? *Pokes at my nose ring*

Me: Don't worry! It's not a new piercing. *Shows her*

Cathy: Does it aggravate you when you sneeze?

Me: Not really. It did at first, though.

Cathy: What if you got a cold all of a sudden? Do boogers get caught in it? (She had a straight face the entire time, I swear!)

Me: I usually just take it out before that happens... 

Cathy: Kleenex for nose rings! I'll email the company!

Not sure if she actually did or not, but it would not surprise me! lol

Another Gamestop FAIL!

I was reading some gaming news at work the other day and came across This Article regarding Gamestop wanting to break into the retro gaming market. It raises a ton of valid points on why this is a horrible idea. I thought about it and honestly, I couldn't come up with any on why it would be a good idea.

Like the article says, retro games are a big deal these days. Yes, there are other ways to play them, most notably emulators and digital downloads via home consoles. But there are lots of people that want to play them in their original state and on the actual hardware they were made for.

If you've ever heard of SNK/Neo Geo, that's all the proof you need. I'd not realized how rabid and fanatical this crowd was until Rei showed me how much some of these games go for. The original price for a Neo Geo AES (Advanced Entertainment System) cartridge was $250 to $300 and no, I didn't forget any decimal points. That was over 20 years ago, they sell for double or more on ebay, and the hardware is just as crazy.

While Gamestop isn't trying to break into that market (they'd boycott it anyway, elitists they are!) I just used it as an example as to how extreme it gets.

The main problem that the article mentions is: Where does the supply come from? Nobody is manufacturing this hardware or software anymore. But there's something I didn't see in it (if it's there, I didn't see it) and that is; How are they going to guarantee any of it? How much of it actually still works?

You're lucky to get a game that's just a few years old that is devoid of scratches, but something from 20 plus years ago? Cartridges can take a beating, I know. But they're looking at selling disc based games/consoles, too. Discs get scratched and the downfall of ANY disc based hardware is that there are moving parts involved and they wear out over time.

Add to that, there's no incentive to sell them your old games. You don't even get half of what you paid for a game that came out two weeks ago, what are they gonna give you for an NES game!?

It's a dumb idea just like when they went up against Steam or the 35 attempts at buying/selling DVDs and I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting. IF it survives the test phase, I'm sure it'll fizzle out quickly. Small, independent stores and numerous online sites have the retro market cornered and they won't be able to break it.

We got a house!

Yep! Janice's husband, George, came through for us in a big way yesterday afternoon! He was running late which isn't unusual for him. Janice frequently says that he'd be late for his own funeral. lol Anyway, he showed up and we went in her office and he just got right to it and told me what he had, what I'd have to pay, etc.

For those of you who don't live in Massachusetts, the cost of even renting a home here is absolutely ridiculous. We're not getting it for nothing or even next to nothing, but it's a great deal considering what the rates are for similar properties. The only stipulation is that I continue to work for Janice for the duration of our tenancy. I wasn't planning on leaving anyway, so that's easy enough!

So what did we get? It's a 2 bedroom, 2 full bathroom single family home with a 2 car garage and NATURE! Lots of nature! It's in Halifax, which is kinda away from everything we're used to being around, but we'll deal! :)

Happy Friday!

As you probably could expect, Rei and I had a sexy good time last night! :) I don't like disclosing the details of my sex life to the internet, so I'll just say that I've not had sex like that ever and playing video games in lingerie and making sexy little challenges with each other is fuuunnn! Hehe! ♥♥♥

We've got plans to go to MFA Boston to see the Hokusai exhibit tomorrow and then maybe spend some time in the city for dinner and shopping after. Should be great! :)

I'm also expecting Janice's husband to be here around 2:00 to talk to me about a house! He owns and rents a few and Janice has pretty much guaranteed that Rei and I are getting one! I'm so excited! I don't hate where we live now, but we need more space. More space = more animals = more cute pictures for you! And I want Haku to live with me! And someday, a spider monkey to call my very own... :p

Rei Day!

Yep. My honey is finally getting out of the hospital today! ^o^ I just talked to her and they were getting her discharge papers ready. She said that it's quite the process getting out of there because the doctor/nurses have to get all of her stuff done while dealing with everything else too. She then has to go over a treatment plan, her meds and sign a ton of things. She said she's hoping to be out a little after lunchtime at the latest.

Her mom is picking her up, wish it could be me. I've been dealing with the heating/cooling people since I got back. We're getting new air conditioning put in and it's not my field of expertise! They keep calling for Janice and she's busy or whatever and I have to take their messages and then they start asking me questions! She's not an expert in the field either, but it's her building and she's got all the specs and everything that they need to know.

Me today! It's been kinda warm lately, but we had horrible rain and wind last night and it's chilly today, therefore the jacket w/ bunny pin.

Therapy and Crumb Being Crumb

I had my first therapy appointment this morning. I have to admit, I was nervous and didn't know how it would go. I had some trouble sleeping last night because I kept going through what I wanted to talk about, I even got up and wrote a list like Adra suggested.

Well, it turns out that the first therapy appointment is like half therapy, half extended intake. The questions she asked me were very personal but I answered them, even though it repeatedly reduced me to a blubbering mess. Unlike the intake, though, she explored some of my issues with me instead of just asking, writing things down and moving on. 

She was a little stunned that I'd gone THIS long without any sort of therapy, hospitalization or anything. I didn't have to ask, she recommended that I see a psychiatrist and even called over to the office for me to make the appointment. (Same building, but therapy/psych appointments are in different spots.) I'll be going there and answering more questions two weeks from Friday. 

I like my therapist, even though I've only met her this once. She's just a few years older than me and has a gentle voice (not a childs like me) and demeanor. She made it clear that I could switch at any time if I felt that it wasn't working out. So, I'm very happy and looking forward to next week.

Now to Mr. Crumb Bum...

I'd finally fallen asleep for about 2 hours and then was awakened by a min pin jumping on my damn head! lol He did that and then when I jumped up because he'd startled me, he took off and I had to go find him. I called him and he came back and went to his food bowl which was empty. I filled it and he decided he didn't want it. Urghhh! 

Started my morning routine and was followed into the bathroom, like usual. Sometimes I manage to shut the door in his face, but he's quick for someone so tiny! I was brushing my teeth and he kept pawing at my leg, jumping and scratching at the cabinet. I picked him up and he got away, then this happened:

Yep. Fuck dirty toilets, he goes for the good stuff! lol He WOULD NOT stop drinking! I turned the water off on him and he was like "WTF MOM!?" Crumb Being Crumb!

Here he is after a bunch of pizza crust the other night. lol I swear, he can eat three times his body weight.

Me today! I got the Batman dress in black! :) Do you think my therapist noticed that I had my "We're All Mad Here" necklace on? Haha! :p

And I'm a little stretched for time, so sorry about the black background/borders, but this was hilarious. I was at Janice's house a while back and Buck got into the garbage. lol ♥
