Visit to the psych ward

No, it wasn't for me! Yet... :p No, I went to see Rei and I have to admit, I was nervous. I had Cathy with me, thankfully. She's been through all this before and knows how it works, so she told me what to expect. I still ended up crying when I saw Rei, I miss her so much and I've been so worried. I guess it all just came to a head.

I really learned something, though. Psych wards are not Arkham Asylum, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest or any of the media portrayals. There aren't people caged in cells or drooling from sedation, it's just a different kind of hospital floor. (Rei is in a regular hospital with a psych ward.) Most of the people there aren't wards of the state (That's for Bridgewater) or complete wackos, they just need help for mental issues or drug/alcohol addiction or both. There was a lady that tried hugging me and invited me to her church, though. She said I looked like an angel! :) There was also a guy who just came up and stared at us and was so medicated that he couldn't formulate real words. They took him back to his room pretty quick.

They go through everything you bring. Cathy and I got Rei some ice cream and soda that has caffeine in it and brought her more music, clothes, and I brought the headband I made, but they said she couldn't have it. Anything that can be a potential weapon or "Sharp" is forbidden. It's kinda scary to think that people have to sit around and dream up every possible gruesome scenario to prevent it. They even tried to take my shoes away! No spikes tomorrow! lol

You can't tour the floor, either. The main lobby and the day/TV/group room are it. They've got arts and crafts every day, so Rei can make her pretties! :) I feel bad that she has to be there, but my mind is a little more at ease now that I've seen it.

Afterwards, Cathy took me to get a little food and she took me to GameStop, thankfully not the one where Drew works. I got Alice: The Madness Returns, which is Adra's current game of choice and two others, all for PS3. I also preordered Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, which Cathy paid for in full! :) (I usually just put down 5 or 10 dollars) Very excited for all of this gaming goodness!

My games! Not sure if I'll get into the Ninja Gaiden one, but it is one of Rei's favorite series, so she will play it if I don't.

Me tonight! Yes, my phone has a pink bunny case, complete with ears... Hi, guys in white coats! :p

Just one more thing and it is a bit personal. Every Friday night is an anniversary to me. Maybe it's cheesy, but it marks another week with Rei and it is our special sex night. Obviously that cannot happen tonight and I feel lonely. This isn't an invite for perverts, I don't want to have sex with anyone but Rei. I just feel alone and I miss being touched.
